Sue Arth is a creative Consultant with more than 12 years experience in change management, transition counseling, training development, program management and conflict resolution. In 2005, Sue started a private practice, Sea of Change, expanding on her interests in managing and developing personal and corporate solutions to change.
Sue authored a book, “Anybody’s Guide to Career Transition”, a holistic guide to transition used in her practice. Additionally, she headed the Human Resource department for a start-up marketing research firm, defining job descriptions, policies and procedures, recruitment, interviewing, psychometric testing and employee relations.
As a career consultant, individually counseling and coaching hundreds, Sue has assisted entry level to senior management employees assess their skills, identify their interests and make career decisions based on a life/work balance and job search reality. She is skilled in career assessment instruments including MBTI and Birkman, offering expertise and guidance in transferring skills into new career paths. She was instrumental in the successful transition of a San Diego high tech company with a 4-phase, yearlong reorganization affecting more than 160 technical professionals. The value she brings to the career search and transition process is reflected in the satisfaction of seeing each client reach new goals and milestones.

She is an experienced trainer, developing custom job search and support programs for public and private institutions including programs in corporate reorganization, management, and mediation for UCSD Extension, USD, and Cal Western Law School. She developed a 30-hour job search preparation program for a non-profit training company that became the standard for the company.
Sue also has more than 15 years experience in alternative dispute resolution. As a mediator, she served on the San Diego Superior Court, with the National Conflict Resolution Center, and presently performs mediations for the City of San Diego and Small Claims Court.
She earned her Master’s degree in Human Resource Counseling, graduating magna cum laude from the University of San Diego. Her undergraduate work was in Industrial Psychology and Business Administration, graduating from California State University, Hayward with distinction.
